Tasting Notes
In the mouth it is fresh and tasty, rounded and balanced, with good acidity and a fruit and vanilla finish with the right persistence. This wine has a black-cherry color with a violet rim. There are intense aromas of red and blackberries with hints of licorice. Typical of the best Tempranillo grapes, over a lovely base of clean oak the vanilla aromas recalling it's brief period in the oak barrels.
Production
A special selection of our best Tempranillo grapes are picked right at the peak of ripeness, right at the moment in which the grape reveals it's finest qualities. These qualities on the Pastor Diaz family vineyard have made this grape the queen of the Rioja vineyard. This wine is made following the traditional method of stemmed grapes, 24 hours of cold maceration with the skins and subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature, followed by six months of cask aging.
