A richly-flavored, spicy red with aromas of plum and black cherry. The ripe palate combines generous bramble fruit flavors with savory, lightly smoky characters, a hint of bitter chocolate and a nip of tannins on the finish.
Production
Grapes are sourced from southern Sicily, around Riesi – Nero d'Avola's traditional heartland. Traditional fermentation is between 79ºF to 86ºF (26ºC to 30ºC) and between five to ten days maceration. This wine is bottled young with no oak aging.
