Food Match

Tasting Notes

Fresh blueberry fruit with a serious savory character and a touch of spice on the finish.

Production

The grapes for Montevista Carmenère are grown in the Maule Valley, the oldest planted and most southerly of Chile's central valley regions. The area benefits from rocky, riverine, mineral soil fed by broad and pure glacial rivers. The high mountain vineyards can be surprisingly cool which gives a freshness to the wine. Vinified in stainless steel tanks with some six months of gentle oak contact (in French oak staves) to add a touch of complexity.
