Production
There is proof that the Eberbach Monastery has been holding vineyards in the Rauenthal area since the early 13th century. The grapes are grown on a steep south facing slope. This experiences optimal sunlight due to the 60% incline, this causes it to warm up slightly. The soil is stony, mostly lime-free soils. Composed of weathered slate, phyllite, quartzites, and loess loam.
