Rabbit’s Foot Mourvédre, 2016

In some cultures, the rabbit's foot is believed to be a lucky charm. In this instance, it would need to be a black rabbit, to match the dark and velvety rich style of this wine.

How it's made

Sourced from three low-yielding vineyard sites in the Barossa Valley. The majority comes from Kalimna, with smaller parcels from Western Ridge. Aged mainly in 475 liter puncheons for 22 months about 25% new oak. At final blending 3% Shiraz is added to give the wine extra complexity.

Food Match

This wine is crying out for Carpaccio all Piemontese!!

Tasting Notes

Berry fruit with a dash of spice. Dark, velveteen black-cherry fruit veiled in spice and pepper with a lick of creamy oak – like a deep cherry pie with a naughty splash of clotted cream on the side. This very limited release can be enjoyed now or cellar for up to seven years.
