How it's made
In the property register of Kloster Tiefenthal, which was subject to Eberbach Monastery, ownership
in Rauenthaler Berg is first documented in the early 13th century. Baiken achieved world fame by the
19th century. This special position is confirmed in the oldest site map in the world, which was
published in 1867 by Friedrich Wilhelm Dünkelbeck in the work "The Nassau Viticulture": here the Baiken is one of the pointed lengths of the Rheingau. Viticulture in the local vineyards has been promoted by the Prussians since 1900: a large property in Rauenthaler Berg was acquired for 1.12 million gold marks (approx. 7.5 million euros). These included the best parcels in Baiken. In 1928, the Prussians erect a domain building at the foot of the Baiken.
